We brew kickass kombuchas for ourselves. Everybody else is invited.
The foundation. High-quality diverse loose-leaf tea varietals are carefully chosen to be made into a proprietary in-house blend before sugar and our thriving SCOBY culture us mixed in to ferment slowly over 7-14 days, transforming sweetness into bright acidity, beneficial base probiotics & aromatic flavour compounds.
The expression. We infuse the brew with 100% natural/ real fruits, tea, botanicals and/or spices, allowing flavour to begin integrating, layering and deepening over an extended period time.
The refinement. A uncommon practice, where we bring the brews through a final conditioning phase where the brew truly becomes exceptional - smoothing edges, enhancing complexity, and creating the beloved, dramatically-enjoyable naturally-carbonated finish that defines KIN.

From Australia to Malaysia…and hopefully back
Melvin (our founder), started brewing kombucha as a solution to his Sprite addiction. He shared it with his housemates (skeptical), church mates & his colleagues (more supportive). Jeanette, our co-founder, also discovered a taste for kombucha in Melbourne and asked Melvin for the recipe.
Both Melvin and Jeanette started brewing kombucha for personal consumption after returning to Kuching (their hometown) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Word got out - and we soft-launched the brand in December 2021.
After a successful soft-launch, KIN officially started in February 2022 and began showing people a different, kinder way of life in Kuching.
Finally managed to get our kombuchas out of Kuching and consistently to our Miri family.
Learnt logistical lessons and applied them to Sibu & Bintulu. Our kombuchas are now accessible throughout major cities in Sarawak!
